Singapore is a city that offers accommodation to suit every budget and hotel deals are easy to find. From the sheer opulence of the celebrated Raffles Hotel (Hotel Singapore) and the trendy boutique hotels along the Singapore River to the budget hotels and hostels of Little India, search hard enough and you are sure to find that perfect location.
The luxurious international hotels on Orchard road are also a popular option. The city’s beloved shopping boulevard is home to a number of international five-star hotels such as Hilton and Marriot as well as luxurious local properties such as the Orchard Hotel. The nearby Heritage District boasts an array of hotels ranging from comfortable three-star to top quality five-star lodgings, many of which are housed in quaint colonial buildings.
Singapore’s Central Business District stretches from North Bridge road through Suntec City to the Singapore River. Hotels here tend to be of the international five-star variety such as the Pan Pacific and Marina Mandarin. Located on the crossroads of the city’s financial and business centres is the excellent Carlton Hotel. The recently restored Singapore River area is now home to some sophisticated boutiques and trendy bars. You will find a decent selection of good value four- and five-star properties here with some good hotel deals.
The colourful districts of Little India and Chinatown are home to cheap Singapore hotels and hostels which are found dotted among other two- and three-star hotels. The suburban residential areas to the north of Singapore’s downtown area are becoming increasingly popular with tourists on a budget. The areas are well-connected to the rest of the city by MRT and bus.
Near Singapore airport there is a good selection of transit hotels, many of which cater to those looking for somewhere to relax for a few hours as well as those planning a longer stay. There are also a number of clean and comfortable budget hotels in this area.
